''Saurenchelys taiwanensis'' is an eel in the family Nettastomatidae (duckbill/witch eels).〔(''Saurenchelys taiwanensis'' ) at www.fishbase.org.〕 It was described by Emma Stanislavovna Karmovskaya in 2004.〔Karmovskaya, E. S., 2004 (28053 ) ''Benthopelagic bathyal conger eels of families Congridae and Nettastomatidae from the western tropical Pacific, with descriptions of ten new species.'' Journal of Ichthyology v. 44 (Suppl. 1): S1-S32.〕 It is a marine, deep water-dwelling eel which is known from the Philippines, in the western Pacific Ocean. It is known to dwell at a depth range of . Males can reach a maximum total length of .〔 The species epithet "''taiwanensis''", after Taiwan, was meant to refer to the type locality of the species, despite the holotype specimen being derived from the Philippines.〔 ==References==
